How To Boost Your Confidence
70
‘Smile, for everyone lacks self-confidence and more than any other one thing a smile reassures them.’ (Andre Maurois)
For many of us there are times in our lives when we feel that our self-confidence falters.
There may be various reasons and factors behind it, but we can surely try to learn from those moments and come back better and stronger.
Discover how to stop yourself from having negative thoughts and develop a positive outlook on life by following a few simple steps.
Having confidence in yourself can be infectious. If you present yourself well, others will want to follow in your footsteps towards success.
Start By Focusing On Things You Are Already Good At
Enjoy a great chat with your friend, neighbour, or a colleague. Do your household budgeting. An awesome parent? Spend a great day out with your kids...
Look at things you can do well, and don’t forget to congratulate yourself!
‘John was so amused by that great talk we had today!’ , ‘I’ve done some great budget planning for this month and we’ll have some money left over!’

Start Something New
Look for new experiences.
Try something you’ve never done before.
Welcome new challenges that life offers you.
Why not sign up for a new course, visit a new place, take up a new skill, join a gym, or a new club...
Remember to look at your results as a learning curve.
Don’t be afraid to take risks. Grasp that new opportunity.
Accept that you will also make mistakes. And the more the better.
They are part of your learning experience and a sign of your growth.
Visualize How a Confident Person Would Look
Another great way of boosting your self confidence is by creating a self-image in your mind.
Visualize who you ‘should’ be. Imagine how a confident person would talk and act.
Make sure this image is realistic, visualise it strongly in your mind and you will achieve it.
Set Yourself Some Achievable Goals
Successfully achieving specific goals helps build up your confidence level and makes you believe that you can go a long way at achieving so much more.
Write them down on a paper. Making a commitment this way will transform your thoughts into something more tangible.
Exercise Your Way To a Higher Self-Esteem
Personal appearance and fitness can have an impact on self confidence and thus being out of shape can make you feel less attractive, less energetic and insecure.
So why not take up some gentle exercise to improve your physical appearance, posture, and help maintain your health.
Use Positive 'Affirmations'
Tell yourself some nice positive statements.
They should be in present tense and have those qualities you would like to develop.
For example: ‘ I love myself for who I am’, or ‘I am happy, capable and enthusiastic.’
These will work into your subconscious mind and in return produce same great results.
Increase Your Confidence By Educating Yourself
Why not become an expert in a particular field?
You should never stop expanding your knowledge and understanding of the particular field you are good at.
Also, accepting change and opening yourself to learning new ideas will help send your confidence sky-high.

Nicely done. Furthermore, I like your 'niche' of starting your articles with famous aphorisms, it catches the eye that way...
Best of hubing to you!

I like the part about educating yourself in particular. I talk with my brother a lot, in fact, about computers and military because he has a real passion for those particular subjects. I'm no expert in either field, but I've found myself listening to tech news daily these days and watching military documentaries from time to time because I've gotten rather fascinated by those subjects too. It makes me feel better about expanding my knowledge because I feel like I'm actually breaking down mental borders that I've set up for myself over the years.

Lots of really good information here, and well written.
They always say that you should make a list of all the things that you are good at, and when you're feeling down, read it, and it'll act as a little pick-me-up.
